This year we started a new tradition that seems to be all the rage these days–the Elf on a Shelf. The idea is that the Elf (Emily named ours Holly) watches the children in a household during the day, and then she reports back each night to Santa on whether each child was naughty or nice. Children may not touch the elf or she will lose her magic and will no longer be able to return to visit Santa. However, our elf, as apparently is typical, got bored each night while the house was asleep, and she got herself into mischief many times over. Here are some of her antics (at least the ones that were fit for public consumption!):
I’d love to hear about whatever trouble your elf may have gotten into, too!
Looks like fun!!
I had never heard of Elf on the shelf until this year. It’s not done in the UK. I think I am going to adopt the tradition next year!
