When considering what I wanted to do with this month’s theme, it occurred to me that “playtime” is a perfect example of how our life is evolving as our daughter gets older! Playtime in our life used to mean dress-up, Pretty Pretty Princess, and afternoons at the park, and I struggled to come up with a way to show how it exists for us now. But I realized we still do play; it has just changed along with the evolution of our little family. Now for fun we do our nails (well, some of us do), watch TV together, and play games. So for this post, I documented a Saturday afternoon board game!
(And I just feel I should add: Tom won… ;-P )
I am sad that Emily is growing up so quickly, but at the same time, I feel tremendously blessed because at home playing with my family is still pretty much my favorite place in the world to be, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for us!
Please continue on in our little circle to see how the super talented Sarah Cambio views “Playtime”!
Monopoly is one of my favorite board games & you captured it perfectly! Looks like you guys were having fun!
[…] Jessica’s post and it’s just […]
awesome post!! this has me looking forward to board games with my boys one day π
Love this series, Jessica! I really like the sense of motion we get in a few of these. Now I’m itching to play Monopoly with someone! π
these are so great and I love the motion captured!! Wonderful job, Jessica π Everytime I visit your blog and see family photos Emily just looks so happy, it makes me smile. β₯
So fun that you finally get to sit around, chat, and enjoy a little more relaxed way of life with your daughter π Awesome perspective on these!
Love these Jessica π Now I am itching to play a heated game of Monopoly! π
we are seeing playtime evolve over here too… as strange as it is to see one phase end, isn’t it a relief to know that different can still be wonderful! your images always make me smile… i think you must have the happiest family, jessica! <3
Love this! I’m jealous of how much light you have at your house!
Beautiful captures. I just love Monopoly. The last board game we were obsessed with is called Catan. It is like Monopoly in the 1800’s!
Love the way you captured this Jessica! My kids are fascinated by board games but they’re still at the age where they rip the board to shreds and lose all the pieces *sigh*
Looks like a lovely weekend with family! Totally relaxed!
I LOVE Monopoly!! And I really love how you captured your family playing! What a great time to do some close ups and get such gorgeous DOF!! You’ve inspired me to do the same during the next game my family plays.
I love the motion you captured here – so fun and the DOF is so interesting!
Love that you captured a family day that is truly what she’ll remember when she’s older
I LOVE game time, so awesome that you captured it!
it’s wonderful to capture the pretty stuff, but the real stuff is what really matters, what sticks. what a perfectly captured memory.
What fun memories! Love your documentation!
What a great way to capture those memories!
One of my favorite games, especially when I win π Love these photos!
Great captures for playtime! Such fun memories & you captured them perfectly.
I just love everyday pics like this… The first pic has a jaw dropping dof I must say!
I love this set of playtime images! So fun when the kids get older and can play games other than…oh, I don’t know…Chutes and Ladders? :giggle
So fun! Love the details!
