This month, I decided to dedicate my Lensbaby post to shots from a special evening our little family spent at Filoli, called Step Back in Time. It was such fun! We got to be at the park as the sun was setting, and it was simply beautiful! Tom and I had intended to get costumes, too (think Great Gatsby or Downton Abbey—most guests and staff were dressed up, and they served drinks/wine and hors d’oeurves), but time got away from us—next year we will for sure. As it was, only Emily dressed up (in her Halloween costume), so I focused my photography efforts on her (and the spectacular gardens!) this time.
To see more Lensbaby images, please continue our little circle to see the gorgeous work of my friend Jude; her work with a Lensbaby is truly inspiring!
And a few non-Lensbaby shots I liked, too, just because I switched it out at the end since the light was getting lower and manual focus was getting more difficult for my old, tired eyes… ;-P
We had a wonderful evening, and we will definitely be attending again next summer. And this time Tom and I will dress up, too!
Oh—I’m also excited because for years now I have been wanting a weeping cherry tree, but I had no idea where I could put it. But our pink dogwood in the front yard has become more and more unhappy in its current waterlogged location next to the fountain, so we need to replace it, and the gardener at Filoli said the weeping cherry should be perfectly content there. So we searched among their trees and found the perfect one, and brought it home:
beautiful shots of your gorgeous girl! i find the same when the light gets too low. GL with your new tree! i hope it grows well for you!
Beautiful images, Jessica!
