Since Emily was very small, she has been begging me to make her Halloween costumes. And of course this year was no different! This year she wanted to be a devil, but a girly one. So we bought a pattern and some fabric…
And I sewed (notice the champagne? I find that very helpful as I DETEST sewing)…
And she became this:
And Tom did his magic to create his annual masterpiece. Emily chooses his subject every year. Usually it has something to do with her costume, but this year instead she chose to commemorate the newest addition to our family, our conure, Rory. (And instead Emily made HER pumpkin relate to her costume!)
Notice the little taskmaster sitting on his shoulder observing the progress?
It became especially apparent this year that I have absolutely NO skill at pumpkin carving, so I didn’t even bother to take a photo of mine. I’d much prefer to let the outstanding telents of my husband and daughter represent our family here!
I wish I was creative and could sew. Great job. I love her outfit.
Whoa, you do REAL sewing–with a pattern and all! It would require a LOT more than a champagne flute for me to conquer that skill! Great job! And stunning pumpkins, as always!
What a wonderful Halloween! I love the second.eye/mask shot! And your family’s pumpkin carving skills are out of this world!

WOw, Jessica! I don’t know what is more impressive, your handmade costume, your pictures or your husbands pumpkin! I’m impressed! Love the two shots of M with the mask! Tell M, Valeria says hello! She’s standing right next to me looking at the pictures 🙂

First…I am super jealous of your sewing skills. And she is a beautiful devil!
Second…My parents have a green cheek conure named Sammy who is going on 14….he looks just like your guy! They are such fun birds. I can’t wait to see what pictures you get of him!
