This month our assignment was to do a portrait in profile. I couldn’t think of a “logical” way to do that, where the image would make sense, so I decided to kind of go in a more “lifestyle” direction with it. And here’s what I got: images of my girl doing one of her favorite things, pencil drawings.
I have been in such a funk lately, and am having such difficulty “seeing” inspiration in my life that I want to shoot. I think it’s something that all photographers face from time to time, but it’s disheartening when you are in the middle of it. So even getting my camera out to do this was a struggle for me. But I just want to say how grateful I am to this little group of amazing, sweet, and caring women in our circle, who “get it” and who know exactly what to say, and for the push that this project gives me, because if not for this project, I am confident I still wouldn’t have gotten out my camera. My funk isn’t over, but I am beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel!
Anyhow, as always, please continue on in our little circle to see what Krista came up with; I am so excited to see these this month!

Jessica, anything you do is magic! I understand going through a “slump” but I am glad you see a light at the end of the tunnel. You are a great talent! I love your processing in these. They are so soft and beautiful.
